Our Board
Deborah Mullen, President
Tunbridge, Vermont
Tunbridge native, Deb Mullen is no stranger to the Fair. You’ll see her all around the grounds, camera in hand, greeting friends and family near the ox events and driving the handicapped shuttle cart. The multi-generational Mullen family are ox teamsters and participate both in the pulling arena and in the judging classes. An avid devotee of Thunder Road racing, she cheers for her brother, Organic dairy farmer, Gary Mullen. Stop by the The First Branch Ambulance & Rescue booth and you’ll see her wearing her other director hat — you’ll be buying a ticket before you know it!
Margaret Rogers, Vice President
Tunbridge, Vermont
Growing up on the Sherlock farm overseeing the Fairgrounds, Margaret S. Rogers has seen many changes in the Fair over her lifetime. A teacher by trade, Margaret can be found painting Fair buildings and manning the Junior Division in Floral Hall during The Fair. You might recognize Margaret’s alter ego in costume as “Donna Duck” of the 2011 Tunbridge Memorial Day Parade fame!
Bridgett Taylor, Secretary
South Royalton, Vermont
Bridgett Taylor grew up in Tunbridge and South Royalton. She has many years of experience with nonprofit management and boards. Bridgett works as a Grant Coordinator for publications throughout the Upper Valley. She and her daughter, Alexis — with moral support from her husband, Chris — always march the Tunbridge Memorial Day parade route for The Friends!
John Holder, Treasurer
Tunbridge, Vermont
A CPA by trade, John splits his time between Key West and his Tunbridge hill farm. Interested in gardening and landscaping, he and Chloe enjoy learning the backroads. John brings a fresh viewpoint to our discussions … and considerable bench building skills. A veteran shuttle driver and Fair Ambassador, John is a willing and ready volunteer … during the summer months.
Nancy Howe has always embraced all things agricultural, whether it be the farm, the fields or the forest. Her career choices have always been with agricultural businesses, with gardening and books as hobbies. From a long line of fairgoers, she has attended fairs from Maine to Kansas. Beginning as a 4-H’er in the 1960s, she continues her involvement in Fair programs as the Superintendent of Harness Racing.
Chris Howe, Fair LiaisonTunbridge, Vermont
Chris is a native of Northfield but now lives in his grandparents’ Tunbridge farmhouse with his wife Lisa. A furniture maker, Chris’ attention to detail earned him a spot on the UAS Board. Chris is also the Superintendent of Concessions, which is almost a full time job in itself. Following in the footsteps of David Howe and Peg Sherlock, Chris’ role is to facilitate communication and understanding between the two Boards.
Sue CainRoyalton, Vermont
Sue has worked in the museum field for over 30 years with a wide range of positions, including interpreting history through programming, curatorial work and guiding tours through several museums in New Hampshire, Vermont, and in the Midwest United States. Immediately after attending The Fair for the first time, Sue knew she wanted to be invovled. She soon joined the Ed Larkin Old Time dancers and first danced with the group at The Fair in 2003. In 2001 Sue was approached to do curatorial work for new donations of 100 pressing irons, which she accepted readily. She has worked on Antiques Hill ever since. Sue believes that one of the Friends of the Tunbridge Fair’s jobs is to improve the Fairgrounds for other organizations and people to use throughout the year, and would like to see the group “spread out over the Upper Valley and beyond to gather in people who love The Fair for many reasons.” She also encourages anyone reading this who is not a member of Friends of the Tunbridge Worlds Fair to “please join!”
